Cpl John Moore 1SCOTS - son of Ian Whitelaw ex 1RHF

We are saddened to report the death of Cpl John Moore 1SCOTS, who was killed in action near Sangin, Helmand Province,
Afghanistan on Sun 7th Feb 2010.

"My wife Karen are I are devastated our son was a hero, he was doing a job he loved and I will never forget him.
My heart is broken he leaves behind him 2 sisters and a 9 month old niece who he was
longing to see on 14 Feb as he was due home on R&R."

"I am so proud of my son, I will miss him so much."

"Rest in peace johnny boy!"

It is with sadness that the Ministry of Defence must confirm that Corporal Johnathan Moore and
Private Sean McDonald of The Royal Scots Borderers, 1st Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland
(1SCOTS), part of the 3RIFLES Battle Group, were killed in Afghanistan on Sunday 7 February 2010.
They died as a result of an explosion near Sangin, in Helmand province.

John's funeral took place at Hamilton on Wed 3rd March 2010.
