Hi all,
I was the commander of 5platoon for about a year and a half, transferring from the OTC at the beginning of 1997, until I left in Aug 1999 to do something that was a bit more important to me than getting my commission.
I'm now in the process of trying to rejoin the TA, maybe I'll get around to going to the factory this time, and thought about looking up old colleagues if any are around and up for a chat.
I went by forename of Gareth back then and was endowed with the nickname 'gash' by Sandy Dunlop one of my section commanders, ostensibly because I was rubbish, but appropriate for other reasons he could never have guessed.
So if any of the soldiers and NCO's who spent their time trying to corrupt me (much to the chagrin of Kevin Connor and John Allan) or the officers who tried to mitigate that damage in their mentoring of me are still around and up for saying hi please do.
