145 viewsThe old crane, said to be oldest in Europe . . . over 700 years old
133 viewsA quiet street. That used to be the garrison church on the right. I attended one Remembrance Day service there.
126 viewsThe Rathaus up ahead - less than a mile from the camp
140 viewsAt the bottom, a street led to some of the favourite drinking howfs: "50 Pfennig", "Bucket of Blood", and the "Rosenkrug"!
110 viewsThe leaning spire from Am Sande. It is off the straight perpendicular, although not noticeable in this picture.
134 viewsFrom the top of Am Sande looking towards the Rathaus.
144 viewsView from the top of the Rathaus. Sorry, not a clear picture. Many of the big department stores were run for the British Services (ie the Naafi, YMCA and I'm sure the Salvation Army also had a presence there). Luneburg in the post-War years was a garrison town! The man with the Bratwurst stall stood on the right of the sqare.
